Tyler Smith
Artist Information
Tyler is a native Oklahoman and resides in the Moore/S. OKC area. He comes from a musically talented family on both his mother and father’s side so it was just natural that he would carry on that legacy. Tyler is a multi-instrumentalist, but his main passion is guitar. He has been picking away at the guitar for over 21 years and has been performing publicly for nearly 17 years.
He is great at feeling out a room and he’s able to weave his eclectic musical taste, spanning many decades and genres, and extensive knowledge of songs old and new into a performance that is fitting for any occasion. Tyler’s vocal style differs from song to song but for the most part he stays close to the original artist’s timbre and phrasing while blending in his own flavor.
He is a talented lead guitar player as well as a solid rhythm player so he is able to add that element to his performances. Instead of just strumming and singing he uses a guitar looper pedal which allows him to overlay a basic rhythmic beat and a chord progression that he can play and sing over. The end product emulates the sound of an acoustic trio and sets him apart from others in his category.
Tyler is very professional in his appearance and has a solid business background. He knows how to treat clients as well as guests and you can trust that he will not be the stereotypical “musician” at your venue or event. His performance and presentation will not disappoint.
DUO
Tyler Smith (vocalist/guitarist) & Ryan Bailey (keyboardist/vocalist) of the OKC based band Drive make up the Tyler Smith Duo. The two perform a variety of musical styles from the 60’s-Today. Their vocals matched with a blend of acoustic guitar, piano & synth soundscapes, mixed with Tyler’s live looped rhythm tracks makes for an unexpectedly rich & full sounding performance. Got requests??? Yeah…they take those!
